For example, the price for a 500-user license is only $131 per user. SunPC 3.0 users can upgrade to version 3.1 for only $13 per user with a 500-user license upgrade. These offerings are not available to resellers. All other SunPC 3.1 configurations on the price list remain unchanged. The SunPC product family is an efficient way to run PC applications on Sun(TM) SPARCstation systems. The product line includes SunPC software, the SunPC Accelerator SX card for higher MS-DOS(R) and MicroSoft(R) Windows performance, and the SunPC Accelerator DX card for the more demanding floating-point and graphics-intensive applications. SunPC allows users to access UNIX(R) and PC applications simultaneously from a single desktop Sun computer, thereby avoiding the expense and inconvenience of using more then one computer for different tasks. HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE CONSIDERATIONS ------------------------------------ o Same requirements as for the other SunPC 3.1 configurations o SunPC does not yet support the Solaris(R) 2.x operating environment and SPARCclassic(TM) and SPARCstation LX(TM) systems o SunPC DX and SX accelerator boards do not yet support SPARCstation 10 QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS --------------------- Q. Are upgrades to SunPC 3.1 available for DOS Windows customers? A. No, upgrades to SunPC 3.1 are only available from SunPC 3.0. Q. Are these configurations available to Resellers? A. No, these are for SMCC end users only. Q. How do I order extra SunPC 3.1 media and documentation? A. One copy of media and documentation can be obtained by ordering the SUNPC-3.1-4-4-21 configuration. Documentation without media or license can be obtained by ordering SUNPC-3.1-X-X-9 in minimum order quantities of 10. Media and documentation can also be ordered through SunExpress. Q. How and when will SunPC accelerator boards support SPARCstation 10? A. SPARCstation 10 will be supported through a free software patch. The target availability date for the patch is June 1993.
