1. General Information About Release 1.0a
Release 1.0a fixes a number of bugs in release 1.0 of Java
Workshop.
This patch release is designed to supplement Java WorkShop
release 1.0. You must install release 1.0 before you
install this patch release.
These release notes describe the 1.0a patch release only. For
completeness, the Java WorkShop 1.0 Release
Notes are also included with this patch release.
2. Bugs Fixed in this Patch Release
General
- On Windows 95/NT systems, path names that contain space
characters are now processed correctly.
- On Windows 95/NT systems, the scrollbar controls now work
correctly.
- On Windows NT systems, windows are not repainted
unnecessarily when you resize windows.
- On Windows 95/NT systems, the WorkShop now correctly
remembers window placements between sessions.
- On Windows 95/NT systems, the "\" character is correctly
displayed as the file separator.
- Clicking multiple times on the WorkShop Build Manager icon
no longer causes the WorkShop to hang.
- Busy cursors have been added to many WorkShop operations to
indicate when the system is busy.
- URL destinations are now handled correctly when copying
and pasting projects.
- The WorkShop now conforms to the stricter implementation
of sockets in Solaris 2.5.1.
Visual Java
Debugger
- In the debugger Classes tab, if you select a method and
then click the Show source button, the red highlighting on any
existing breakpoints in the Source Editor is no longer lost.
- If, during a debugging session you change the source
path in the Debug/Browse tab in the Project Manager, the
new path now takes effect immediately.
- When debugging, if you click on the Step Into or Step
Over controls in rapid succession, you no longer lose the
green highlight in the Source Editor.
- In the debugger Variables tab, strings are now
displayed on a single line rather than as an array of
characters, each on a separate line.
Source Browser
- String searches in the Source Browser have been made faster.
Source Editor
- The undo command now works correctly after multiple character deletions.
