Sort the Log
The Request Log displays the HTTP requests processed by SWS.
It has three menus and a button, which are used to view the log and sort
it in different ways. The Request log entries can also be found in the
log file directory for any host (configured by a host's Log
Prefix entry in the Configuration folder).
The Request Log Menus
The Request Log menus allow you to update and sort the information in
your log. The Request Log menus are:
- Log-The Filter... selection from the log menu allows you to set start and end time parameters for events displayed in the log view. Also allows you to include or exclude URL prefixes, view all entries, or just successes or failures, and to set a maximum number of requests to view.
- View-Allows you to scroll through the list of entries displayed on the Detail or Stats card.
- Hosts-Allows you to display the log for a specific host.
The Request Log Cards
The Request Log cards allow you to do operations on your Request Log.
The Request Log cards are:
- Detail-Allows you to select any of the log fields (displayed
at the top of the log) as a sort category. You can change the width of the columns of the Detail card by placing your cursor between two columns until an it changes to an arrow and a line. When this happens, hold the mouse button down and drag left or right. Release the mouse button when the column is the desired size.
- Stats-Allows you to display statistics about the Request Log
for the host you have selected. The statistics you can display are:
- Log Start-Displays the date and time when the log started recording
entries.
- Log Finish-Displays the date and time of the last log entry.
- Total Hits-Displays the total number of GET and POST requests
registered in the log.
- Document Requests-Displays the total number of GET or POST requests
made for documents in the host's document root.
- CGI Requests-Displays the total number of GET or POST requests
made for the host's CGI scripts.
- Successful Responses-Displays the total number of GET or POST
requests that were successfully received and returned by the host server.
- Failures-Displays the total number of GET or POST requests that
were unsuccessfully received and failed to be returned by the host server.
- GET Requests-Displays the total number of GET (only) requests
registered in the log.
- POST Requests-Displays the total number of POST (only) requests
registered in the log.
To Sort the Request Log
- Place the cursor on the column header you want to to use as your sort
category
- Click the mouse
